Demo of Next-Gen image gallery.
I had read in many places that this is really the best image gallery plugin and I really do like it!
Set up is a bit confusing, and the user interface for configuration a bit complex.
However considering what it does – it is awesome!
To get the NextGen Album displaying on page or post WordPress 2.9.2
Create a page called ‘Photos’ or ‘Gallery’.
Then insert:
[ album=1,compact ]or [ album=1,extend ] into the page.
(remove the extra space after and before the square brackets.
Change the album number as needed.
Next, go to the Gallery > Album page from the left-hand menu in WordPress Admin and make sure all your galleries are added to your album.
In your configuration you set the image thumbnail that you want to represent your gallery.
When the gallery thumbnail is clicked you have choices to Show as slideshow or View with PicLens.
I have since disabled the piclens option due to the User Content License Grant that CoolIris has for their products. (see below)
FYI: to get rid of CoolIris:
Go to ->Gallery -> Options -> General Options TAB
I think I prefer PicLens. NOTE: if you click on one of the thumbnails below the other will disappear until you return to the page or refresh!

Observations:
I like this plugin but I feel like the configuration panels are not very intuitive. This could just be me!
I am also noticing a few problems with scripts – I will be working on resolving.
WARNING!
If you click on the piclens (now gone) – which has a very nice display there is an add for CoolIris.
Before using any free software please read all agreements!
