I have a couple of posts about eliminated spam sources – that may be a misleading category.
We are really only sticking a cork in a hole on a good day.
As fast as we block spammers they move to the next unmanaged colo and set up spam farms.
Astonishingly, more than 87 percent of all e-mail is unwanted junk, according to an October 2010 Symantec report. The amount of spam varies month to month. It’s topped 90 percent a few times. The Radicati Group estimated that people sent around 90 trillion e-mails (junk and otherwise) in 2009. Spam mail is cheap to send and you don’t need to score very many hits to justify the expense.
